Each year, the AMERISAFE Community Scholarship awards one student a scholarship to pursue a college degree, either at a four-year or two-year institution. Graduating seniors in Beauregard or Vernon parishes who are going directly to college are qualified to apply.  Students must have maintained a 3.0 GPA. The scholarship may be renewed each semester, provided renewal requirements are met.  An applicant cannot be a child, stepchild, grandchild or legal guardian of an AMERISAFE executive or board member.  


  1. Minimum 3.0 high school GPA

  2. Letter of recommendation for faculty or staff of enrolled high school (member of academic organization for high school students)

  3. Community service, leadership roles and extracurricular activities

  4. Awards and recognitions

  5. 500-word essay to demonstrate personal drive and sense of purpose

Award: $500 per semester for a total of $2,000 for a 2-year program, or $4,000 - 4-year program.
Application deadline: March 22, 2019.  
Notification date: At graduation event.
