Sara McLeod Judson 

President  and CEO of the Community Foundation of Southwest Louisiana

Ms. Judson joined the Community Foundation of Southwest Louisiana as the CEO in December 2013. 

She worked in marketing, public relations and organizational development for CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital, former Mayor Willie Mount, Lake Area Medical Center and former U.S. Sen. J. Bennett Johnston.  Most recently, she was owner of Training Pathways. Through her work at the Community Foundation, she is continuing her roles as co-facilitator of Leadership/SWLA and as a trainer for area teachers who are implementing the Leader in Me program in their schools. 

A fourth generation resident of Lake Charles, she enjoys continuing the family tradition of being an active member of the community. She volunteers with Junior League of Lake Charles, where she was named the 2013 Sustainer of the Year, and as a second grade reading tutor at Oak Park Elementary School. With her husband, Mark, and 14-year-old daughter, Rachel, Sara enjoys participating in their church, First Presbyterian, and many community projects.

Debra Vaughan

Assistant to Sara Judson

Ms. Vaughan has worked at the community foundation since 2009. Before that, she was executive assistant and medical staff coordinator at Women and Children's Hospital, where she worked for more than 13 years. A native of Sulphur, she is married and has three children.

The Foundation's staff is supplemented by the affiliated Baton Rouge Area Foundation, which provides financial, communications and administrative support.
